Immediate Family

The Foundation facilitated a screening of Denny Tedesco’s documentary Immediate Family, followed by a Q&A with the director.

Immediate Family is the story of a group of close friends who became the studio band to the biggest stars of the 1970s and beyond — Leland Sklar, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel and Waddy Wachtel — from the director of The Wrecking Crew.

The evening opened at seven in the Screen One bar with a live set from singer-songwriter Tom Scamell, playing James Taylor and others. The film followed at 7.45, and at 9.27 the director took questions alongside Leland Sklar himself.

The film features James Taylor, Carole King, David Crosby, Keith Richards, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Warren Zevon, Phil Collins, Lyle Lovett and Steve Jordan.
