Upcoming Events

Charlotte Collins
New York, USA | 16 June 2025, 18:00 (EDT)
at The New York Society Library
When Charlotte married Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice, she thought she was signing up for a quiet, predictable life, until a destructive playwright had different ideas. Charlotte Collins follows this beloved supporting character as she bungles her way through being the protagonist of a romantic comedy. When she and Mr. Collins are whisked away to Scotland, Charlotte encounters a roguish Highlander named Silas and his scandal-chasing sister-in-law. Finding herself approaching a potentially dangerous end to her once-peaceful story, Charlotte must decide if she prefers security over passion.
Adapted from the Pride and Prejudice sequel Jane Austen never wrote, Grace Abele's new play in development has everything you could want in an Austen-inspired comedy—familiar characters, witty language, rigid Regency mannerisms, and men in kilts.

Manydown: A Jane Austen Story
Global Kickstarter Campaign
Beautifully adapted and directed by Prerna Ramachandra, based on Sarah Rose Kearns' play of the same name, Manydown is a period comedy short film exploring the choices women and artists have to make through the story of one of the greatest writers in English literature, Jane Austen.
At the threshold of her 27th birthday, Miss Jane Austen is finally engaged to a young man of good fortune—the heir of a fabulous estate, Manydown—who will forever set her and her sister up for financial stability. However, Jane has a scandalous little secret. A dream. To be one of the greatest novelists of all time. A dream that she must give up on, once she becomes a wife. As she readies herself for a life of matrimony, her sister Cassandra decides it's time for Jane to face her fears, and follow her calling, even if it means risking the futures of those she loves the most.
Manydown is scheduled to begin production in August 2025 and needs your support. Please consider becoming part of this special project by donating to our Kickstarter campaign!

Jane Austen's Persuasion
Maryland, USA | 26 September - 19 October 2025
at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, Baltimore
Anne Elliot was only nineteen when she met and fell in love with Frederick Wentworth. They were briefly engaged... until Anne broke it off, on the advice of her godmother Lady Russell. After all, what business did a penniless young sailor have aspiring to the hand of a baronet's daughter? Eight years later, however, tides have turned: Captain Wentworth returns to England, rich and successful from the war with Napoleon, while Anne has faded into an "old maid", who finds herself exiled from her family home due to her foolish father's debts. Will Anne overcome her regrets, and can Wentworth set aside his resentment?
Austen's timeless tale of constancy and change is rendered vivid and alive in a fresh new production of this carefully-wrought adaptation by The Holy Theatre's Sarah Rose Kearns, coming to Baltimore's prestigious Chesapeake Shakespeare Company this fall!

The Austens
New York, NY | 06-21 December 2026
at A.R.T. New York
Global Mosaic Foundation is very proud to support The Holy Theatre's world premiere of Sarah Rose Kearns' ninety-minute domestic drama about Jane Austen and her family,
It's the spring of 1810, and Jane has finally sworn off novel writing: she is thirty-four years old and still unpublished, notwithstanding years of dedication to her craft—yet she finds a certain quiet contentment in the comfortable home that she shares with her mother, her beloved sister, and another female friend. Everything changes, however, when her seventeen-year-old niece Anna comes to stay. Troubled, headstrong, and determined to be a writer, Anna rekindles Jane's own youthful ambition and ferocity; likewise, Anna's palpable need for guidance—her longing for a story that can help her make sense of life—makes it more and more doubtful whether Jane should keep the lid on her creative impulse. A feminist coming-of-middle-age tale and celebration of the artist's calling.

EMMA, The Graphic Novel
New York | 23 December 2025
Global Mosaic Foundation is delighted to support Duniath Comics' graphic novel adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma.
Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, is convinced she will never marry, although she enjoys playing matchmaker for everyone else in the quaint little town of Highbury. When she takes on the task of finding a suitable match for her friend Harriet Smith, her matchmaking skills lead to a series of romantic misunderstandings, which put her own heart to the test.
Coming in late 2025 to celebrate the 210th anniversary of the publication of this beloved classic, this adorable new version makes an effort to portray a more diverse cast of characters than usually seen in Austen adaptations; and strives to create a friendly and accessible port of entry for young and new Jane Austen readers, while delighting long-time Janeites as well.

The Austens at Chawton House
Chawton, UK | 06 June 2025, 19:30 (GMT)
at Chawton House
Join us for the world-premiere staged reading of The Austens, a new play by The Holy Theatre's Sarah Rose Kearns.
It’s the spring of 1810 and Jane Austen has sworn off novel-writing. Crushed by the nonpublication of her novel Susan, she approaches middle age determined to keep the lid on her ambitions: to take what satisfaction she can in her everyday life as a shabby-genteel spinster, appropriately grateful for the relatively-comfortable home that she shares with her mother, her sister, and their best friend Martha Lloyd .
The plan is working, sort of, till Jane’s niece Anna—17, troubled, headstrong, and determined to be a writer—gets packed off to Chawton Cottage by her stepmother, after she’s embarrassed the family by breaking an engagement. Anna’s recklessness and daring, her pain and her palpable need of healing stories, gradually revive Jane’s own divine discontent and rekindle her passion for her art and, ultimately, inspire her with the courage to seek publication for Sense and Sensibility.
